Welcome to our inaugural issue of foto:RE|VIEW. This magazine was founded by foto:RE, a collective of photographers, working together in an effort improve their own work, and to help others improve theirs.
Beginnings concerns itself with several starting points: the early works of foto:RE founding member Stanley Rosenthall; Alina Chirlia’s experiments at the nexus of light and chemistry; Jennifer King’s images of firsts and lasts in the lives of her children and Mark Walton’s initial forays into film with his Polaroid 250. Also included, Manifesto is a portfolio of contemporary female self-portraiture.
Writers in this issue include Karl Griffiths-Fulton, Mark Walton, Karl Kessler and dramaturg Lisa O’Connell.
